Bonnie’s Grill
Bonnie's Grill was a beloved roadside diner that served travelers and local residents along Route 1 during Fredericksburg's mid-century growth. Operated by Bonnie and Melvin Sisson, the small restaurant became known for its friendly service, home-style meals, and welcoming atmosphere. At a time when Route 1 was the primary north-south travel corridor through Virginia, Bonnie's Grill provided a familiar stop for truck drivers, families, and local workers alike. Though the diner is gone, it remains a cherished memory of an era when independently owned roadside restaurants helped define the character of the Fredericksburg region.
