EDDIE MACK’S DRIVE-IN

Eddie Mack’s Drive-In, a small brick spot on Canal Street in Fredericksburg, was run by Charlie and Virginia Hart of the Hart family. The business began in 1958 and was known for efficient drive-up curb service, with customers eating inside or right from their cars. It earned a reputation for some of the best bar-b-que in town before closing in 1972 as fast-food chains like Hardee’s and McDonald’s arrived.
