GOOLRICK’S PHARMACY
C. 1958
Goolrick’s Pharmacy has long been a landmark in Fredericksburg with a rich history dating back to 1869, when it was founded by William Barber Goolrick. It remained in the Goolrick family until 1933, when it was purchased by the Rector family. It is known for its long-standing soda fountain, which was one of the oldest continuously operating in the United States. The pharmacy has remained a fixture on Caroline Street since the 1890’s and has been recognized for its vintage charm, comfort food, and small-town service.
