MARRIOTT HOT SHOPPES FREDERICKSBURG
Located at the corner of Route 1 and Fall Hill Avenue, the Marriott Hot Shoppes opened in 1956 and quickly became a favorite gathering place for Fredericksburg youth. With popular menu items, upbeat car-hop service, and a welcoming atmosphere, the restaurant was one of the most sought-after eateries in the area until its closure in 1989. As one of the last two Marriott Hot Shoppes locations in operation, the Fredericksburg restaurant stood as a lasting reminder of the original restaurant and concessions business founded by J. Willard Marriott - an enterprise that would eventually evolve into the global hospitality company known today as Marriott International.
