SIMON HIRSH DRY GOODS

Located at 304 William Street at the corner of William and Charles Streets, directly across from Hurkamp Park (now known as City Park), Simon Hirsh Dry Goods was part of a family deeply involved in Fredericksburg’s civic and commercial life.

Simon’s uncle, Isaac Hirsh, became one of the city’s leading citizens, operating a dry goods store at 924 Caroline Street while also serving on both the School Board and City Council. Isaac’s brother David, along with David’s son Simon, later ran the Fredericksburg Feed Store at 304 William Street.
